Stand up Paddle Board
There are a few different types of stand up paddle boards you can choose from when renting from these locations. Each paddle board style is specifically designed to match your weight and skill level as well as the conditions you will be using it in. If you don’t know what you are looking for, just ask a rental specialist to help you decide.
Paddle
Your stand up paddle boarding OCNJ rental cost should include your paddle rental, but you will still have to pick out your own paddle as well. That’s because it’s suggested you use a paddle that is about six to eight inches taller than you are to achieve optimal control. Again, if you have any trouble choosing your paddle, just ask a rental specialist to help you out.
Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
According to the U.S. Coast Guard, stand up paddle boards are vessels, and thus require the use of a PFD. It doesn’t much matter whether you are on the calm waters of the bayside or the crashing waves of the ocean side, you will need to wear a personal flotation device to keep you safe. It is also recommended that you wear a safety whistle and a light if you are going to be out during or after sunset.
Leash
Stand up paddle board leashes should come standard with your rental, but if they don’t, make sure to ask for one. These leashes will attach to both you and the board, so in the event you fall off of it, you will remain connected to it and not risk losing your rented paddle board.
Enjoy Your Time on the Water
After you’ve gotten your rental board figured out, it’s time to head out to the water. Be safe and enjoy — whether the water is smooth or it has a little bit of wave action.
