OCEAN CITY, N.J. – The team at Lululemon celebrated the grand opening of their new store at 761 Asbury Avenue with the Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce, officials, and members of the community on Friday, Aug. 8.
Lululemon features athletic wear and other apparel, accessories and more, such as yoga mats, and water bottles. The company also has its own compression and wick-proof wear.
Shoppers lined up around the block to check out what Lululemon had to offer. During a ribbon cutting ceremony, Michele Gillian, Executive Director of the Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce, thanked the Lululemon team for investing in the community and noted growth in the downtown, from remodels to new businesses opening making the resort the place to shop, dine and enjoy. Lululemon moved into the storefront formerly occupied by Ron Jon Surf Shop.
Mayor Jay Gillian led the countdown, and Lululemon store manager Laurie Sykes cut the ceremonial ribbon to the applause of employees, dignitaries, and shoppers.
Then customers poured into the store and perused active wear to button down shirts and shorts.
Since March, the Ocean City Chamber has hosted 26 ribbon cutting ceremonies throughout Ocean City.
