When does the Ocean City Boardwalk close? Never.
The OCNJ Boardwalk is open to visitors all year round. Many opportunities for family fun await visitors from May through October. Starting in November and running through April, Boardwalk visitors can enjoy a slower pace with fewer tourists and seasonal sales and events lining the calendar.
Ocean City Boardwalk schedule is as follows:
Changing seasons often bring associated changes to OCNJ Boardwalk hours. While the Boardwalk itself stays open, some establishments have different schedules. Peak season at the Boardwalk is from Memorial Day to Labor Day, with most stores operating at extended hours for an extended shopping experience. April to May and September to October are shoulder seasons, when some shops stay open on weekends and close on weekdays. The off-season is from November to March, but many businesses remain open, including restaurants, arcades and boutiques.

The Ocean City Boardwalk is the perfect place for bike rides. It spans 2.5 miles and has distances conveniently marked every quarter mile. Bike rides are generally allowed until later in the day during the off-season, but we recommend riding in the early morning to avoid crowds.
Take advantage of the OCNJ Boardwalk’s proximity to the water. Beach access is permitted for active recreational activities, like surfing. The Ocean City Aquatic & Fitness Center also hosts low-impact beach exercises every Friday morning in the summer. Bring a towel and a friend and achieve your health goals with the crew at OCNJ.
