2024 Ocean City ALS United Walk Presented by Village ShopRite from 9:00 am to noon at the Ocean City Sports & Civic Center. Joining the ALS United Walk is free, but online registration is encouraged at www.OceanCItyALSunitedwalk.org. The event will raise funds for research and community-based patient services programs for people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, often called Lou Gehrig’s disease. Once thought rare, but now considered common, ALS is a progressive motor neuron disease that causes patients eventually to lose the ability to move, eat, and breathe on their own. ALS affects not only health, but also quality of life, and often financial security. ALS United Mid-Atlantic ensures that anyone facing ALS has someone to turn to for expert advice, essential equipment, support, community, and caring conversations.
