Ocean City First Night Admission buttons are selling fast. The popular New Year’s Eve entertainment celebration has sold out for the past three years.With just one week left until the holiday, the First Night Committee advises those interested to buy their admissions as soon as possible.

First Night offers 60 entertainment programs plus amusement rides and miniature golf for just $14. Admission buttons are available seven days a week from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. at Downtown Gillian’s, 838B Asbury Ave. You can also order on line at www.firstnightocnj.com. where the complete program is reproduced.

Phone orders will be taken at City Hall Annex, Mon.-Fri. from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 609-525-9300 or by calling First Night Headquarters 609-391-0060. Call the Annex first as headquarters will be busy taking walk-in orders. First Night has many entertainment programs for all ages.

A buffet dinner prepared by local restaurants is available at the High School Cafeteria, 6th and Atlantic Ave., with sittings from 4 to 9 p.m. and may be ordered when buying admission buttons. Price is $20 for adults and $8 for children. First Night has an Angel Fund for those who cannot afford buttons. Call 609-525-9300 for assistance or to contribute to the fund.

First Night will be followed by First Day at the Beach and First Day in the Downtown on January 1st. Stores will be open in the Asbury Avenue Shopping District during the day offering bargains “Galore.” As part of the sales spectacular, the Ocean City Fine Arts League will give away an original Wanda Kline painting valued at $500. Stop at Art on Asbury, 608 Asbury Ave., and fill out an entry form. No purchase is necessary to win. Drawing will be held at 4 p.m. For information, call 609-814-0308.

There will be a 5K Run on the Boardwalk starting at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace, at 1 p.m. and an Ocean Plunge at 2 p.m. Phone race director, Mike Givens, 609-861-0674 for information about the 5K. The plunge is free and all who enter will be awarded a Beach Nut Certificate. Participants are asked to bring a “message in a bag” to the beach. The bag should contain non perishable items for the Ocean City Food Cupboard.

NOTE: This year’s First Night T Shirt will feature replicas of all Ocean City First Night Admission buttons issued from its inception in 1993 to date. T Shirts are $20, on sale at Downtown Gillian’s and on the Boardwalk in front of the Music Pier, Jan. 1, during First Day at the Beach activities.

ATTENTION TICKET HOLDERS: Anyone who purchased Dec. 19th tickets for either the Pops “Joy to the World Concert” or the “The Christmas Wonderland Spectacular” should bring their tickets to City Hall Annex, 901 Asbury Ave., and be prepared to fill out a refund form in order to be reimbursed for the cancelled performances. “Will Call” Window patrons must also complete this form.

To those patrons who do not live in the area, please contact the Annex Staff at 609-525-9300, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and we will mail the form to you. Please return the completed form with your tickets enclosed to the current address that appears on the form.
