(Thurs. Oct. 24) The Ocean City Exchange Club and the City present the 66th Annual HALLOWEEN PARADE beginning 7:15 p.m. This event is one of the longest running Halloween Parades in the Tri-State area. Parade Route is from 6th to 11th Sts. on Asbury Ave.

The event includes eight divisions with colorful costumed marchers competing for prizes. There will also be numerous decorated floats, several high school bands and the always entertaining Pitman Hobo Band.

Remember to bring a can of food on Thursday evening. It will be collected by local Boy Scouts. They are assisting the Ocean City Food Cupboard by “Scouting for Food” for those in need. Registration in the Parade is free at www.ochp.blogspot.com. (Fri., Oct. 25) COSTUME PARTY: The Annual Costume Party benefitting the Ocean City Theatre Company is set from 7 to 11:30 p.m. at the Ocean Yacht Club, Bay and Battersea Rd. Must RSVP in advance, $65 per person. This orange and black themed party is a great way to celebrate Halloween with friends and give back to the Arts. (Oct. 26-27) MURDEROUS NIGHT at the Museum, a murder mystery-comedy with audience interaction presented by the Ocean City Theatre Company. (Sat., Oct. 26) A Longport Bridge- Beach Clean-Up sponsored by the Ocean City Gardens Civic Assn. is set for 10 a.m. Meet at the Longport Bridge Parking Lot and bring gloves. Contact Rich at 287-8125.

(Sun., Oct. 27) DOG OF THE YEAR CROWNING: The Crowning of Ocean City’s 2014 Dog of the Year is set for the Port O’ Call, 1510 Boardwalk, at noon. In case of inclement weather the ceremony will be held in the Music Pier Pavilion, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace.

There will be a “Howling for Hounds” Costume contest immediately following the crowning. Costumes will be judged in a variety of categories and prizes will be awarded. A silent auction will be held benefitting the Cape May County Dog Park in Ocean City. Dog of the Year T-Shirts and calendars will be for sale.

(Sun., Oct. 27) The Ocean City Environmental Commission is hosting a BAY CLEAN-UP in partnership with the South Jersey Fly Anglers from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. at the Tennessee Ave. Boat Ramp. Residents, visitors and groups are encouraged to bring their Kayaks and canoes.

The Environmental Commission asks volunteers to meet at the boat ramp parking area at 11:45 a.m. The Commission will provide work gloves and bags. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and a waiver form must be signed.
