The Ocean City Library, 17th and Simpson Ave., is a "Happening Place"; On Feb. 17 at 7 p.m., they will present a fun evening, the Lucky Guess, featuring professional entertainer and comedian, Ron MacCloskey. This is a lively game show. Contestants are asked multiple questions and the audience is also encouraged to shout out suggested answers. Prizes are awarded. The contest is suitable for children. Entry is free. The Lucky Guess will be held in the Library's Lecture Room N110, enter from the 17th St. side of the building.

The Library's Winter Film Group is showing The Unforgiven ( R ) on Mon. Feb. 28 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Dr.Walter Brown will discuss the film briefly. Admission is free.

Free 2 p.m. Saturday Afternoon movies at the Library continue with a showing of You Again ( PG ) on Feb.19. Refreshments will be provided. The films will be shown in the Library's Main Lecture Room N110.

The Odd Couple, an update of the Comedy Classic, will be performed by the S&L Players on Sat., Feb.26 and Sun. Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. in the Main Lecture Room and is free.

The Library is hosting an excellent Jazz Program by the Somers Point Jazz Society. The group offers an entertaining and educational series in the Library's Main Lecture Room 110. Admission is free.

On Sun., March 20 at 3 p.m., the Paul Jost Quartet featuring Frank Strauss, Tim Lekan and Bob Shomo with special guest Michael Pedicin, will perform a collection of Richard Rodgers' most popular compositions. Rodgers is one of only two persons to have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony plus a Pulitzer Prize. Marvin Hamlisch is the other. Rodgers composed over 900 songs for 70 musicals, 43 on Broadway. On Sun., March 27 at 3 p.m., Edgardo Cintron will bring the Latin Side of Jazz to the series. Cintron will demonstrate how this exciting form of Latin music has been influenced by the artistic and creative Jazz movement. Another program is set for April. A Scavenger Hunt for 7th and 8th Graders will be held at the Community Center, 1735 Simpson Ave. on Thurs., Feb. 24 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. During this free activity, children will have fun looking for clues and learning about Center activities. There will be a warm up before the hunt with Aquatic and Fitness Center Staffers. Healthy snacks will be served and prizes will be awarded to the winning team. The event is sponsored by the Ocean City Aquatic and Fitness Center, Ocean City Arts Center, Ocean City Free Public Library and Ocean City Historical Museum. A Black History Program and Ethnic Dinner will be held 3:30 p.m., Sunday Feb.27 at Macedonia United Methodist Church, 941 Simpson Ave. Guest speaker will be Nathan W. Davis III, historian and educator. The program is in memory of Kemry McFarland, Community Leader and Civil Right Activist. It is sponsored by the United Methodist Women, Joan Robertson President. Rev. Marcia Pankey is church pastor.

A Talent Show has been set for 7 p.m. Feb. 24 by the Ocean City High School Key Club at the Hughes Performing Arts Center, 6th and Atlantic Ave.

A Fund Raiser for Betsy Young, beloved Ocean City Intermediate School teacher afflicted by illness, has been set for Wed., Feb. 23 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Intermediate School, 18th and Bay Ave. Former students will perform musical tributes to Betsey. Beach Tag Correction: Some incorrect information about our Beach Tags has been circulated by the media. Tags bought pre-season will be $15 until March 1. March 2, pre-season tags go to $20. June 1, seasonal tags will be $25. Daily tags remain at $5 and weeklies stay $10. Beach tags are required June 11 through September 5 for all beachgoers 12 and older.
