The MISS NEW JERSEY PAGEANT returns to Ocean City this week. So do an army of Jeeps and a giant fireworks display.

The Pageant is set for June 12th to 14th with a Boardwalk Parade on Wed., June 11. All events begin at 7 p.m.

The annual Parade features all 24 contestants showing their shoes and dressed in colorful costumes. There will be music, marching units and other features in the popular event.

Preliminaries will be held June 12-13 with the finals set for Sat., June 14, at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace. All programs start at 7 p.m. The winner will represent the State at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City.

Ocean City will be represented by former Miss Ocean City, Devon Vanderslice and Sarah Ford, former Little Miss and Junior Miss Ocean City. On June 13-14, over 400 Jeeps will be displayed in Ocean City during the second annual JEEP INVASION Weekend. Give Dad a Weekend to Remember: On June 13, the Jeeps will be displayed on Asbury Ave. from 6 to 9 p.m. lining up on Asbury Ave from 6th to 9th Streets. On Sat., June 14 the Jeeps will line the Boardwalk from 6th to 14th Sts. Twenty vendors will be featured in the Saturday display. The New Jersey Jeep Assn. provides the rally that is sponsored by the Boardwalk Merchants and Ocean City Tourism Commission.

June 14- FIREWORKS DISPLAY presented by The Ocean City NJ Boardwalk Merchants Association - two new fireworks shows for the 2014 Summer Season. Fireworks on Saturday, June 14, 10:30 p.m. off the Ocean City Boardwalk will be in celebration of the Jeep Invasion event and Father’s Day Weekend. Another exciting display will be on Wednesday, July 16th.

June 14 - The Ocean City Gardens Civic Association is holding a Flag Pole Dedication to those Veterans from the Gardens Section of Ocean city. It will be held on June 14th,2014, Flag Day, at 11AM at the Longport Toll Plaza in Ocean City. The American Legion, VFW, Mayor Gillian, Peggy Lloyd , Ambassador and formerCongressmanWilliam Hughes, Sr.  will be in attendance and participate in the dedication. All are welcome. June 25: BROADWAY ON THE BOARDWALK V:  Watch Broadway come to life in this all new production that celebrates Broadway and the 7th Anniversary of Michael J. Hartman’s Greater Ocean City Theatre Company. The program features Broadway star Julia Murney.

The event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Wed., June 25 at the historic Ocean City Music Pier and is a perfect way to kick off the 7th season of the company. Julia Murney last appeared on Broadway as Elphaba in “Wicked” after playing the role on the national tour for which she received an Acclaim Award. (June 27) Legendary singer PEGGY KING, one of the few legendary stars of stage, screen, television and night clubs still performing today, will appear in concert at the Ocean City Free Public Library, 17th and Simpson Ave. The free show is set for 7 p.m. in the main auditorium. Seating is on a first come, first served basis. Peggy King has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has been featured on stage and in movies with dozens of legends including Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Mel Torme and Andre Previn. NOTICE- Call today to reserve your child’s spot in one of the Ocean City Arts Centers 54 summer camps. Subjects are painting, drawing, cartooning, dance, pottery, sculpture, mosaics, music, guitar and more. Camp hours are 9 a.m. till noon and 12-30 to 3-30 p.m.
