(Sept. 4) KING & QUEEN OF PLOP (or Mr. Fall Guy and Miss Fall Gal) Pageant on Friday, 11 a.m. at 9th St. Beach opposite Music Pier. Contestants perform dramatic plops in slow motion to welcome the fall season. Entry in contest is free. (Sept. 6, 8 & 11)  THE WORLD GOES ‘ROUND -- The Ocean City Pops and Greater Ocean City Theatre Company present a fully staged musical filled with humor, romance, drama and non-stop melody. (Sept. 11) NATIONAL SEPTEMBER 11 COMMEMORATION-7 p.m. In front of the 6th Street Fire House, 6th and Asbury Ave.  Call (609) 399-6111.

(Sept. 12) FREE AIR FESTIVAL at Municipal Airport, 26th and Bay Ave. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Will feature ground displays of a B-25J Mitchell Bomber and a World War II Grumman TBM Avenger. Their will be air demonstrations, a paper airplane contest for children, Face Painting and food vendors.

Ground displays will include Classics, Antiques, Ultralights, Warbirds, Homebuilts , Military Vehicles and Antique Cars. The NJ Pine Barons RC Club will present exciting model airplane demonstrations with miniature jets soaring at 100 miles per hour. Helicopter and Airplane rides will be available for purchase. (Sept. 12)  STREET ROD EXHIBITION: This popular show features modified, classic, cars on display. One day exhibition will be featured on the Tabernacle Grounds, 550 Wesley Ave., from 8 a.m. until noon, and then shown on the Boardwalk until 4 p.m. Many of the vehicles are enhanced by artwork. (Sept. 14) 20th Annual Sunshine Foundation GOLF CLASSIC: Benefits the organization that for over 38  years has granted the wishes of over 37,000 seriously ill, physically challenged and abused children. (Sept. 16) the Ocean City Chamber of Commerce roasts MICHAEL HARTMAN, founder and Director of the Greater Ocean City THEATRE COMPANY. Michael has brought Broadway Quality shows to Ocean City. His Company also offers theatre camps and theatrical training to youth and gives them the opportunity to perform in productions at the Music Pier and Bill and Nancy Hughes performing Arts Center. Michael frequently teams with the Ocean City Pops to stage Broadway Shows.

(Sept. 20) The 25TH ANNUAL CORVETTE SHOW: Over 350 cars on display featuring models from every year the Corvette was manufactured. One of the largest exhibitions of its kind in the country.
