What's Happening in Ocean City this Weekend

Sat. Oct. 19: The JUNIOR MISS Ocean City Pageant 7 p.m. at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace. Tickets are $10 at the Music Pier Box Office. Scholarship Pageant is for girls 12 to 15 years of age. Current Junior Miss Ocean City, Shannon Wallace, will preside. Sun., Oct. 20: South Jersey Cruisers CLASSIC CAR RUN: Approximately 200 cars will arrive in Ocean City between 11: 45 a.m. and noon and park at the lot across from the Flanders Hotel, 11th and Ocean Ave. Included will be Street Rods, Classic Cars and cars from the 60s and 70s as well as contemporary Camaros and Mustangs. Sat. and Sun., Oct. 19-20: The Shirt Shack Hayrides on the Boardwalk, free, noon till 4 p.m. Get on and off at 8th and 12 Sts.

Sat., Oct. 19: The RAILROAD RUN-- 5K Run/ Walk to benefit the Ocean City Historical Museum. Registration 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Stainton Senior Center, 18th St. side of the Community Center. Race begins 10 a.m. rain or shine. Pre-race registration $20 or $25 day of the event. Sun., Oct. 20: American Making Strides AGAINST BREAST CANCER: 8:30 a.m. registration at the Ocean City High School Football Field. Parking is available at 5th and Boardwalk. This walk is a powerful and inspiring opportunity to unite a community to honor breast cancer survivors. It raises awareness about steps we can take to reduce the risk of getting breast cancer and raises money to help the American Cancer Society lead the fight against this disease. NOTE: Trick or Treat time in Ocean City’s Downtown has just been changed to 1-3 p.m. on Oct. 26th. It will be held from 6th to 11th Streets on Asbury Ave.
