Past Baby Parade Queens, Princesses and others are invited to participate in the City’s 100th Baby Parade set for Thurs., Aug. 13 starting 10:15 a.m.

The Parade route is from 6th to 12th St. on the Ocean City boardwalk.

Former Queen Infantas and Little Princesses will be placed on floats and past participants will march in a special section of the Parade. Ocean City’s Baby Parade began in 1901 and was interrupted over the years by World Wars 1 and 11 and the Infantile Paralysis epidemic. Ocean City is the only community in the nation to hold 100 Baby Parades and has held the events without interruption every year since the end of World War 11.

A 128 page fully illustrated book documenting the history of Ocean City’s Baby Parade has been published by Arcadia, the leading publisher of community oriented books in the country. It was written by historians Fred and Susan Miller and is available at local books stores.
