Ocean City's Two Day Aviation Weekend Events

Event #1:

WHAT:           Ocean City Airport Air Festival

WHEN:          Saturday, Sept. 15^th 10am-3pm

WHERE:       Ocean City Municipal Airport, 26^th & Bay Avenue

The Airport Festival will feature ground displays of antique and unusual airplanes. A Highlight of this display will be a rare Mitchell World War II B 25 Bomber that gained fame for its flexibility and durability during that conflict. It was brought to national attention in April of 1942 when General Jimmy Doolittle led 15 B-25’s from the aircraft carrier “Hornet” in America’s first attack on mainland Japan. The B-25 will take off from the Airport at the conclusion of the Festival.

The festival also features a Kite Festival, Paper Airplane Contest and Face Painting for Children, antique cars, music, food, airplane rides for a fee and more.

Event #2:

WHAT:           Boardwalk Aerobatic Airshow

WHEN:          Sunday, Sept 16^th 1pm-3pm

WHERE:        Can be viewed on the beach and boardwalk from 6^th to 14^th Streets

The Boardwalk Aerobatic Airshow will feature individual aerobatic performances and groups flying in formation. Featured performances include the Twin Tiger Aerobatic Team of Buck Roetman and Mark Sorenson along with world-renowned stunt pilot Gary Ward in his MX2. An F-16 four-ship fly by is also scheduled during the Aerobatic Airshow .
