Ocean City Chamber to Hold Comprehensive Business Summit

The keys to capitalizing upon today’s changing business environment will be explored as the Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce hosts the 3rd Annual Business Summit on Thursday, November 5th. The Summit is conducted in conjunction with the Atlantic Cape Community College Center for Regional & Business Research, led by Dr. Richard Perniciaro, Dean of Administration, Planning and Research.

The purpose of the summit is to gather and analyze current information on how business has been throughout the community so that businesses may make informed planning and marketing decisions for next year. To begin the data gathering process, a survey was emailed to more than 500 members of the Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The survey findings will be combined with statistical information from the City of Ocean City’s Beach Tag and Parking Revenue information, the Cape May County Municipal Utilities Authority, and additional pertinent research data from other recent studies conducted by the Center for Regional & Business Research. The composite information will then be presented by Dr. Perniciaro at the Chamber’s Summit on November 5th, at the Ocean City Tabernacle, beginning at 8:30am.

“The economic climate today, both in Ocean City and throughout our area, is substantially different than it was a few years ago. There are many variables and many questions that can be raised on whether the changes we see reflect an ongoing process, a short-term trend or a singular and unusual occurrence,” said Scott Halliday, chairperson of the Chamber Business Summit Committee. “Businesses need to address these changes to be successful. We also need to remain current with consumer interests. The Business Summit allows us to do this, and is the most comprehensive forum of its kind our area.”
