Ocean City will celebrate its 100th Baby Parade on Thursday, August 13 starting 10:15 a.m. The Parade route is from 6th to 12th Sts. on the Boardwalk.

Ocean City is the only community in the nation to actually hold 100 Baby Parades. The event started in 1901. There were interruptions during the World Wars and an Infantile Paralysis Epidemic.

Thanks to a group of devoted volunteers, the Baby Parade has been held continuously since the conclusion of World War II.

Over 300 children, ages infants to 10 years, will be featured in Thursday’s Parade.

There will be floats, past participants and Ocean City Clubs and organizations marching and riding in the event. There will be eleven musical attractions including the Ferko String Band, Clevemore Fancy Brigade, Crescent Temple String Band, Atlantic City Bagpipers, Danny Kean ragtime piano player with his faithful Lab dog, the Interboro High School of Pennsylvania Marching Band, Oakcrest High School Marching Band, Ed Coles Entertainers, Fred Hall Dixieland Band, Elvis performer, Ted Prior and the world’s only Wind Chimes Band of Ocean City.
