The Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce is hosting its Fifth Annual Business Summit, sponsored by Sturdy Savings Bank, on Wednesday, October 17th from 5pm-7pm at Ocean City Yacht Club in Ocean City, NJ. The purpose of the summit is to provide information about the local and regional economy to the local businesses so that they may make informed planning and marketing decisions for next year.
Nationally recognized economic forecasting expert, Joel Naroff, Ph. D., will be the guest speaker. He is the President and founder of Naroff Economic Advisors, a strategic economic consulting firm. He advises companies from a wide range of industries on the risks and opportunities that economic developments may have on the organization’s operating environment.
Naroff has received numerous honors and is a nationally recognized economic forecasting expert. In 2011, and also in 2007, he received the National Association for Business Economics Outlook Award as the top economic forecaster. In 2008, he was awarded one of the oldest and most prestigious forecasting honors, the Lawrence Klein Award. He was also named the Bloomberg Business News 2008 top economic forecaster. In 2006, he was MSNBC’s top forecaster. He was also the first independent economist to win the CBS MarketWatch Economist of the Month award.
An accomplished public speaker, Naroff’s humor and unique ability to make economics understandable have brought him a wide following. His presentations show how evolving economic trends can impact businesses, governments, educational institutions and not for profits.
