WHO: The Frankenstein Monster and his artwork

WHAT: Return to the Ocean City Free Public Library

WHEN:  Thursday, Oct. 1 at 11 a.m.

WHERE: In the Atrium of the Library by the steps to the art Center, 17th and Simpson Ave.


WHAT ELSE: A press conference at 11 a.m. will kick off a month long exhibit of Frankenstein artwork through Nov. 1. This is the third such exhibition to be held at the Library. There will be 52 new pieces of artwork not shown here before in the Atrium exhibit.

PLUS: There will be guest appearances by the Frankenstein Monster and the sinister Dr. Frankenstein. Ron Mac Closkey, curator of the exhibit, will discuss the monstrous artwork and the artists responsible for the portraits.

Visitors will have to opportunity to win a replica of one of the Monster’s most famous magazine cover portraits.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: On Wednesday, October 28 Frankenstein’s 80th Wedding Anniversary will be celebrated by a special show honoring “The Bride of Frankenstein” at the Library in the Chris Maloney Lecture Hall. Ocean City High School students will be featured in the performance.

The Monster and his Bride will repeat their vows at 7:30 p.m. Celebrities expected to attend the ceremony include Count Dracula, the Wolfman, The Mummy, a Zombie, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and the Hunchback. A reception will follow the nuptials.
