The City’s 3rd Annual Mr. Fall Guy and Miss Fall Gal Contest aka the King and Queen of Plop will feature numerous unusual entries. The event, which welcomes the coming of the beautiful fall season to this family resort, is set for 11 a.m. Fri., Sept. 4 at the 9th St. Beach opposite the Music Pier.

Participants fall dramatically and in slow motion to the sands. Those performing the most original renditions will be named Mr. Fall Guy and Miss Fall Gal or if they prefer The King and Queen of Plop.

Those already scheduled for the pageant include famed Ocean City soprano, Nancy Fox, “The Singing Plopper, Show Stopper;” Santa Claus with the “Chris Cringle Plop;” the Ocean City Air Circus ensemble with the “Yo Yo, Double Bubble Plop;” environmental super hero, Trash Buster with the “Stand By Your Can or Pick Up Your Litter Plop;” Marsha Shallcross with the exciting “Fall Off Your Chair Plop” and 9 year old Julia Albertson with an amazing “Gymnastics Plop!”

Rene Sese, Don Ho performer, will sing Tiny Bubbles as bubbles descend upon the sand. There will also be other musical selections. The World’s Only Wind Chimes Band of Ocean City will perform the international premier of its newest symphony “Ode To Autumn;” Elvis performer Ted Prior will sing something relevant and Suzanne Muldowney, aka Underdog, Shelly the Mermaid and the Ice Princess will offer an interpretive Welcome to Autumn dance.

“These were just the early entries,” note contest officials. “Much more of interest is expected.”

All participants will join in a mass plopping to conclude program.
