FACT SHEET RE: BEACH REPLENISHMENT PROJECT IN SOUTH END OF OCEAN CITY, NJ
Project Description: Ocean City will receive approximately 1.6 million cubic yards of sand on approximately 2.6 miles of beach from 36th Street to 59th Street. Ancillary work includes the construction of pedestrian crossovers and the installation of new dune fence and dune grass. Our neighboring communities , Strathmere and Sea Isle, will also be receiving beach replenishment projects simultaneous with the work in Ocean City. The project is being overseen by the United States Army Corps of Engineers and is 100 % federally funded at a total cost of $ 57 million. There is no local funding towards this project.

Salute to Working Women Set for April 22nd
The Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce announces that Sandra T. Aromando, owner and president of Euro Line Designe, will receive the 2015 Salute to Working Women Award and will be honored at the April 22nd Chamber of Commerce Luncheon at the Ocean City Yacht Club. The award recognizes women in business for their outstanding professional and personal achievements.
Sandy received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Georgia with a major in Interior Design. She has been the owner and President of Euro Line Designe for 24 years. Since 1991, Euro Line Designe has provided high-end custom cabinetry from New York to Florida. Euro Line is located in a 100-year-old “Contributing Structure” to the historic district of Somers Point, New Jersey. Sandy is a member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association and has received numerous design awards.

Walk to Help Homeless Hounds - Tri-State Basset Hound Rescue Joins Doo Dah Parade
Ocean City’s largest contingent of the Doo Dah Parade will again bring up the tail end of the event as hundreds of basset hounds and their humans walk (or waddle) to support Tri-State Basset Hound Rescue.
The parade is a major part of Tri-State’s annual BoardWaddle, a two-day event that funds the rescue of homeless bassets in New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, and lower New York. The Waddle is the rescue’s largest fundraising event of the year.

HEROES to Splash and Dash for Designated Driving at Ocean City's 2015 First Day
Ocean City, NJ - Participants in Ocean City’s annual New Year’s Day Run and Ocean Dip will have a new reason to take the plunge this year as the John R. Elliott HERO Campaign partners with the city to promote the use of designated drivers.
It’s all part of the Ocean City’s 23rd First Night and First Day celebrations, which begin New Year’s Eve with the city-wide festival of family activities and fireworks, followed by the First Day HERO Run and Plunge on the beach and Boardwalk. This year’s event also marks the beginning of the HERO Campaign’s 15th anniversary year.
“We are proud of Ocean City’s longstanding relationship with the HERO Campaign,” stated Mayor Jay Gillian. “We welcome its participation as a charitable partner in our annual First Night and First Day festivities, which are all about safe family fun.”

Santa Sighting in Ocean City
OCEAN CITY NJ….An Old-Fashioned Family Christmas in Downtown Ocean City is scheduled for November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving. Asbury Avenue, 6th-11th Streets, will be full of holiday spirit and entertainment to accompany everyone’s holiday shopping experience beginning at 2pm.
Features of the day will include visits with Santa in the gazebo at the Mark Soifer Park across from City Hall from 2 to 4pm, a special appearance by the Phillie Phanatic from 4 to 6pm, Carolers in Victorian costumes, free horse and carriage rides from 1-4pm, and other entertainment on Asbury Ave.

Ocean City Chamber Announces 2014 Award Winners
Ocean City, NJ - The Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce is honored to announce the recipients of the Chamber’s 2014 Citizen of the Year and Business Beautification Awards. These awards will be presented at the Chamber’s dinner Tuesday, November 18th at The Ocean City Yacht Club.
This year, the Citizen of the Year Award will be presented to Leon Costello. He is a lifelong resident of Ocean City, NJ and is a managing partner with Ford-Scott & Associates, LLC. Leon has been an active member in the community supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Boy Scouts, United Way, the Ocean City Senior Men’s Golf League, Ocean City Free Public Library and is a coach for Ocean City Baseball and Basketball.

The Ocean City Board of REALTORS® announces the return of BUBBLE MANIA, its popular and fun family fundraiser, Saturday, September 13 at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ocean City Municipal Airport.
BUBBLE MANIA is a day of family activities that raises funds for the Pediatric Care Center at Shore Medical Center. There will be fun bubble activities for kids of all ages. Food, candy, and beverages will be for sale to raise funds. Children are welcome for a day of bubble blowing fun!

Trail of Two Cities 5k Set For Nov. 1
Between Ocean City and Somers Point
The 25th Annual Trail of Two Cities 5K Run/Walk over the Causeway between Ocean City and Somers Point is set for Sat., Nov. 1 starting 8 a.m.
The event begins at the Transportation Center, 9th and Haven Ave. in Ocean City and ends at JFK Park in Somers Point.
It provides a spectacular experience for both runners and walkers alike. If you’re a runner, you get to test your endurance over the high inclines of the bridges. If you’re a walker, you are able to enjoy the scenic wetlands and Bay plus a panoramic view of Ocean City. Bring your camera and snap some spectacular photos.

Ocean City Baby Parade Set for Thursday, August 14th at 5 P.M.
Oldest Continuously Held Parade In Nation
OCEAN CITY, N.J.-- Ocean City’s 105th Baby Parade is set for Thursday, August 14th starting at 5 p.m. Founded by Philadelphia photo engraver, Leo Bamberger, it is the oldest, continuously run event of its kind in the nation.
The Parade starts at 5 p.m. at 6th and the Boardwalk and concludes at 12th and Boardwalk. It is open to children from infants to 10 years of age. Contestants can register at the Ocean City Information Center, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace. Registration closes 5 p.m., Tues., August 12th.
