What's Happening in Ocean City, NJ 8/31/16

(Sept. 2) Ocean City welcomes the coming of the fall season with an unusual contest, The King and Queen of Plop, also known as the Mr. Fall Guy and Miss Fall Gal Pageant. Contestants are asked to demonstrate their unusual plops at the 9th St. Beach on Friday at 11 a.m. with registration starting at 10:30 a.m. Entry is free. (Sept. 10) STREET ROD WEEKEND: Features classic cars on display on Boardwalk from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.  They can also be seen at the Tabernacle 6th and Asbury Ave. until noon. (Sept. 18) A special screening of a new film “AMERICAN EXPERIENCE, THE BOYS OF ’36”: The 2016 OC Reads Book is “The Boys in the Boat” by Daniel James Brown. Community members are encouraged to read this book prior to the screening. The screening is scheduled for 2 p.m. in the Library’s Chris Maloney Lecture Hall and is free and open to the public.

(Sept. 24) OCEAN CITY AIRPORT FESTIVAL: Municipal Airport, 26th and Bay Ave., 10a.m.-3 p.m. features ground display of unusual airplanes from World War II Planes to Classics and Warbirds.
