Miss New Jersey Pageant Will Be Here June 10th-13th

The Miss New Jersey Pageant returns to Ocean City this Wednesday through Saturday.

But first a word about OCEAN CITY RESTAURANT WEEK which is now under way and runs through Sat., June 13th. MISS NEW JERSEY events kick-off on Wednesday, June 10th with its annual Parade set for 7 p.m. from Sixth to 14th Street on the Boardwalk. All 28 contestants will show their shoes and be dressed to salute the Parade’s theme “Pages through the Ages.” Cierra Kaler Jones, reigning Miss New Jersey will lead the Parade.

 

Ocean City resident, Devon Vanderslice and Dana Piccoli of Beesleys Point, two former Miss Ocean City’s, will compete for the title. There will also be numerous marching groups and special musical attractions in the Parade. Gary Sakas, the reigning Mr. Mature America, will be a special Parade guest along with Miss Ocean City, Junior Miss and Little Miss.

Former Miss New Jersey, Dena Blizzard, will emcee the Pageant. A TV and radio personality, Dena is now touring with her hilarious show. “One Funny Mother.” She has an excellent way of connecting with audiences and will add interest and humor to the programs.

The Miss New Jersey preliminaries will be held June 11th – 12, with the finals and crowning on June 13 at the Music Pier. For tickets access www.missnewjersey.net and click on “tickets.”

(June 20) The Ocean City Nor’easters vs. New York Red Bulls U23: FEED THE STORM NIGHT. The City’s professional soccer team and the Community Food Bank of New Jersey partner for the Feed the Storm Food Drive from 6-8 p.m. Fans donating non-perishable food items will receive $1OFF per item, maximum 2 items. Schedule includes Mon: Sculpting Saltwater Taffy (we have had Ferris Wheels), Tues: molding French Fries into artwork (we have had Elvis in fries), Wed: That’s the Way the Cookie Crumbles, chewing a 12 inch, chocolate chip cookie into something, (Whales and Road Signs have appeared) Event also includes a Super Hero and Super Villain dress up competition, Thursday: Paper Clip Sculpting (Would you believe the Empire State Building and Brooklyn Bridge?) REMINDER: The Ocean City Board of Realtors annual PLANT SALE is set for (June 20) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at a new location, the board’s office, 405 22nd St. Proceeds benefit the Waves of Caring of Ocean City.
